Configuration Options:
The Jab is a cable actuated derailleur built for all types of 1x bikes - MTB, gravel, and e-bikes.
Whether you’re replacing a tired derailleur or building a new ride, the Jab is designed to integrate seamlessly into a variety of different 1x drivetrains.
Compatible: Flawless shifts with common 1x drivetrains - MTB or drop bar, 12 or 11 speed, and robust mounting options. You can learn more about compatibility here.
Rebuildable: Built to be rebuilt and maintained as a machine that supports you for years. Easily serviced and adjusted with common tools. Adjust it, rebuild it, replace damaged parts, or change the configuration for a new drivetrain. You can also send it in any time for a professional rebuild by Madrone, for a flat rate of $85 + shipping. Regardless of the parts that need to be replaced, or the time it takes, we will send you one back that functions as good as new.
Precise: The Jab is more precise than the top of the line options from the major drivetrain companies! The pivot parts are machined to tight tolerances, and they are adjustable. As they wear, you can easily tighten them up and remove the slop. All this translates to crisp, confident shifts – even after heavy use.
But wait, there's more!
Durability: Regarding the balancing act of durability-to-weight, the Jab leans toward durability without going too far. Most parts are CNC machined 6061 and 7075 aluminum (compared to a mix of die cast aluminum and plastic used by competitors). We apply a little bit of extra material and clever geometry in critical areas to ensure the assembly is stiff and durable. We also offer mounting options with an additional stiffener plate, which has similar strength and stiffness to "direct mount" derailleurs.
Environmental responsibility: On top of being built to last and fully rebuildable, we use we use metals whenever possible, which are more commonly accepted by most recycling systems (compared to the wide variety of engineered plastics commonly found in other derailleurs). While plastic makes sense to save weight, metals make more sense for recycling.
Support: We stand behind every product, and our goal is smooth running drivetrains. We start with detailed videos and technical information on our website. But if you have other questions or issues, you can email us and we will will support you. We also have a fair return policy.
Value: A high end derailleur offering longevity, freedom, and performance at a competitive price. The long term cost is low too... For anyone who owns a Jab (1st, 2nd, or nth owner), you can send it in to Madrone for a rebuild for a flat rate of $85, regardless of which parts need to be replaced or the time required. We will send it back to you working as good as new.
