2 Clutch Types |
October 2025 |
Earlier Jabs all had the friction clutch. This is now called the gravel clutch. MTB clutch was released to suit aggressive MTB riding. |
Now all MTB Jabs get the MTB clutch. Now all gravel Jabs get the gravel clutch. If you have a gravel clutch and ride MTB, update to the MTB clutch. The clutch types are explained here. You can also mail it in for a discounted rebuild. |

Clutch Break In |
December 2025 |
Earlier Jabs have a clutch break in period. Newer Jabs are broken in when they are built. |
After break in it will not change further. If the clutch is too light, you can adjust it. If your Jab was shipped after the date, it is already broken in. |

Pulley Teeth |
January 2026 |
Earlier Jabs have a unique upper and lower pulley. Newer Jabs have identical upper and lower pulleys. |
For older Jabs, the lower pulley has chamfers on the tips of the small teeth. On newer Jabs, the location does not matter. |

Ball Bearing Link Pivots |
January 2026 |
Earlier Jabs have bushing pivots. Newer Jabs have ball bearing pivots. |
We recommend to update to the ball bearing link kit. You can also mail it in for a discounted rebuild. |

Cam Refinements |
2026 |
Cam 245 was revised to 245.2 Cam 253 was replaced by 258 For these refinements, the prior cam shifts well too. |
Using the newer cam will slightly improve the shift quality. |
