2025 Tools
2025 Pin Installation/Removal Tools
These tools help install and remove pins. The are used with a bench vice or arbor press, and these tools no longer require a punch (like the 2024 tools). The magnetic bases hold the tools in place on the vice, and you can press pins in or out using these tools with a bench vice.
2025 AXS Spring Clamp Tool
This tool has been improved a lot over the 2024 version. It is much stronger, and fits the assembly better, making the spring installation easier. In addition, we incorporated the link holding tool into this tool, so there are fewer tools to keep track of.
Snap Ring Tools
You will need to purchase a snap ring tool separately. The best one for SRAM derailleur rebuilds is the Knipex 49 31 A0, which is available for about $30 USD from many online sources. Before you purchase a different one, we recommend to learn more about snap ring tools here.
Bushing Removal Tool (Cable Actuated Derailleurs Only)
The SRAM cable actuated derailleurs (X01 and XX1) have bushings that have to be removed from the links before the links can come off the derailleur. The bushing removal tool helps remove the press-fit bushings from the links. The threads of the tool bite into the inside diameter of the bushing, allowing you to pry them out.
Please do not force the SRAM links off the derailleur without removing the bushings first, or you will damage parts you will need for your rebuild. Note: The Madrone links and bushings do not require using this tool, and neither do the stock SRAM GX links and bushings.
