Installing the Jab Cable Pulley Bracket

Safety

• Safety glasses
• Recommended: Nitrile gloves

Tools

• Metric hex keys (individual, not from a multi-tool)

Torque and Threadlocker

All fasteners require threadlocker and proper torque.

Parts

• Cable pulley bracket
  • MTB type: no threaded barrel adjuster
  • Gravel type: has threaded barrel adjuster

Supplies

• Threadlocker (such as blue Loctite 242)
• Citrus degreaser
• Rags

Remove Derailleur

Remove the Jab derailleur from the bike.

There is no need to break the chain. Remove the upper chain pulley and lower cage spacer, and the chain will come out of the derailleur.

Clean all dirt off the area around the cable pulley and bracket.

Remove Bracket

Remove the M4 screw and parts.

Clean the bore in the pulley and the boss that it rotates on.

Choose Bracket

Choose the cable pulley bracket you need.

Mountain bikes use the type without the threaded barrel adjuster, because MTB shifters have a barrel adjuster.

Gravel bikes use the type with the threaded barrel adjuster, because drop bar shifters don't have a barrel adjuster.

Assemble Pulley & Screw

Grease the boss that the pulley rotates on (after cleaning).

Place the pulley on the cable pulley bracket.

Install the M4 washer on the M4 screw.

Place the screw in the hole in the cable pulley bracket.

Choose Bracket Angle

Note the 2 angle positions for the cable pulley bracket.

Choose the one that gives the best cable housing routing on your frame.

The shape on the bracket fits the shape on the derailleur.

Threadlock & Tighten Screw

Apply removable threadlocker to the M4 threaded hole.

Tighten the M4 screw and wipe off excess threadlocker.

Reinstall Derailleur

Reinstall the derailleur.
