Installing the Jab Cable Pulley Bracket

Cable pulley bracket
- MTB type: no threaded barrel adjuster
- Gravel type: has threaded barrel adjuster
Supplies
- Thread locking compound (such as blue Loctite 242)
- Citrus degreaser
- Rags
Torque and Threadlocker Specifications
- All fasteners require threadlocking compound and proper torque.
- Refer to this page for centralized torque specs and threadlocking compound specs.
Steps
Remove the Jab derailleur from the bike. There is no need to break the chain. You can remove the upper chain pulley and lower cage spacer, and the chain will come out of the derailleur. Clean all dirt off the area around the cable pulley and bracket. |

Remove the M4 screw and parts, and clean them if required. |

Choose the cable pulley bracket that you need. Mountain bikes use the type without the threaded barrel adjuster because MTB shifters have a barrel adjuster. Gravel bikes use the type with the threaded barrel adjuster because drop bar shifters do not have a barrel adjuster. |

Place the pulley on the cable pulley bracket |

Install the M4 washer on the M4 screw. |

Place the screw in the hole of the cable pulley bracket. |

Note the 2 positions for the angle of the cable pulley bracket. Choose the one for the best cable housing routing on your frame. The shape on the bracket fits the shape on the derailleur |

Apply removable threadlocking compound to the M4 threaded hole. |

Tighten the M4 screw, and wipe off excess threadlocking compound. |

Re-install the derailleur. |
