Torque and Threadlocker Specifications

Steps
Remove the Jab derailleur from the bike. There is no need to break the chain. You can remove the upper chain pulley and lower cage spacer, and the chain will come out of the derailleur. Clean all dirt off the area around the cable pulley and bracket. |

Lock the cage with a tool |

Back the B screw out so the tip is flush with the surface as shown. |
![]() |
Use a pick to remove the o-ring from the B screw plate. Take care not to damage the o-ring. |
![]() ![]() |
Wiggle the B screw plate back and forth while pulling it to get it over the hidden o-ring and off the mounting bolt. |
![]() ![]() |
Remove the o-ring from the mounting bolt. You can pinch it with your fingers to get a pick underneath it. |
![]() ![]() |
Remove all the remaining mounting bolt parts. Depending on which mounting bolt was in your derailleur, the parts may be different than this image. This image shows the standard mounting kit. |

This image compares the stiffener plate kit to the standard mounting bolt kit. Note the location of the M10 shim in each. When using a stiffener plate, the long bolt is needed. The standard mounting bolt is shorter. |

Grease this surface on the derailleur. |
![]() |
Install the bolt, M10 shim, (and if needed) the stiffener plate. Note: The M10 shim will contact the body of the derailleur regardless of the type of mount. |

Important Locate the two M10 conical disc springs. They have a conical shape. The orientation of the springs is critical for proper function. When installed, they should face each other as shown, creating a void between them, similar to two crash cymbals. |

Apply grease to this surface of the derailleur. |

Install the first M10 conical disc spring and press it down. |

Apply grease to the first M10 conical disc spring. |

Install the second M10 conical disc spring and press it down. |

Apply grease to the second M10 conical disc spring. |

Install the larger of the two o-rings on the B screw plate as shown. Cross it over the lip so it stays in place (refer to the 2nd image). |
![]() ![]() |
Install the B screw plate. |
![]() |
Install the smaller o-ring. Use a new one, do not use the one that was removed. It will not retain the B screw plate well if a damaged one is used. |
![]() |
Start the o-ring by placing it on the threads. Then pinch the o-ring to get a small flat blade screwdriver (or pick) under the o-ring. Walk the o-ring down the threads, past the first groove adjacent to the threads, and into the second groove, which is not easily visible. Seat the o-ring fully in the second of the two grooves. Do not seat the o-ring in the groove adjacent to the threads. The B screw plate will have some wiggle, which is normal. When the derailleur is installed, this will become tighter. |

Seat the larger o-ring in the proper location by moving it over the external lip on the B screw plate. |
![]() ![]() |
Thread the B screw in so it holds keeps the B screw plate within a limited rotation range. The B screw will protrude about 3-6mm. |

Clean off excess grease. |

Re-install the derailleur. |

Done! |
